Retirement may seem more like a concept than a reality for many these days, but if you need some help with your planning, professional financial planners will be available for free to provide advice Jan. 12 and Jan. 17.
The event is Kiplinger’s Personal Finance’s 11th annual Jump-Start Your Retirement Plan Days. The magazine teams up with the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) for two days to answer retirement questions both by phone and online.
Maybe you lost your job and need some advice about your company 401(k). Or are you confused about different investment options — stocks, bonds or auto-pilot life cycle funds? And then there’s the kids — do you set aside money for college or retirement? All these questions and more can be answered.
Jump-Start Days Details:
- When: Thurs., Jan. 12 and Tues., Jan. 17
- Time: 6 a.m.- 3 p.m. Pacific Time
- How: Visit Kiplinger’s or NAPFA’s websites or call toll-free at 888-919-2345
NOTE: Have your financial documents with you for reference when you call or go online.
Kiplinger and the financial advisers group had six hour-long chats on Facebook last fall in advance of the Jump-Start event to hear some of the questions readers had about retirement issues. You can see the transcript on Kiplinger’s website.
